Easy Kompagniet har været igennem så meget ved d-dag, at man har lavet en serie der følger E-kompaniet gennem hele invasionen. Det er Tom Hanks og Steven Spielberg der står bag, og det er den dyreste serie der overhovdet er lavet. Serien er meget realistisk, og bygger på den rigtige historie om e-kompagniet. Mange af de overlevende fra e-kompagniet er med i starten af hvert afsnit, og fortæller om det de oplevede! Meget god og inspirerende serie om soldaterne i e-kompagniet.
Easy`s historie:
- June 1942 Men joined up and were trained at Toccoa
- Sept 1943 From Georgia, "Easy" took the train to New York and then was shipped to Aldbourne, England where they were to learn how to parachute and prepare for combat.
- May 1944 To prepare for journey to Normandy they were moved to Upottery, England
- June 5th 1944 Left for Normandy. The entire company missed the drop point and ended up scattered across Carentan to Ravenoville
- June 6th 1944 Members of Easy including, Lipton, Compton, Guarnere and Malarkey (led by Winters) were sent to destroy a German artillery installation at Brecourt Manor, North of Ste Marie-du-Mont.
- June 12th 1944 Capturing of Carentan, France
- June 13th 1944 At outskirts of Carentan, Germans attempt to retake the town but are unsuccesful
- June 29th 1944 Airbourne return to Aldbourne after losing 69 men
- Sept 17th 1944 Landing at the drop zones in Son (North of Eindhoven Holland) as a part of Operation Market-Garden.
- Sept 18th 1944 (liberation of Eindhoven) and the beginning of operation Market Garden, a high risk operation that failed. The allies plan to end the war by Christmas 1944 did not succeed.
- Oct. 2nd. 1944 Easy was involved in the fightings at a 5 km. wide so called 'Island' between the Lower Rhine and the Waal river. This fighting lasted untill Nov. 25th.1944. a Static trench warfare, more reminiscent of wwI than wwII.
- Dec.19th 1944 After a short while of resting, recovering and refitting, Easy went into the line south of Foy (near Bastogne, Belgium) It was the worst part from wwII because the had to stay in the woods, surrounded by the Germans, in mid winter without supplies and winter clothing untill Jan. 13th.1945.
- Jan.14th.1945 The attack on Noville untill Jan.17th.1945
- Jan.18th.1945 Easy was moved to Alsace, about 160 miles south and slightly east of Bastogne because of a German operation called Northwind.
- May 3th.1945. Col. Sink got the orders to have 'Easy' ready to move out the following day, objective Berchtesgaden. Hitler's Eagle's
Nest.
